Cultural Exchange Through Pokémon TCG ポケットモンスター
Cultural Exchange Through Pokémon TCG

Introduction (Hi! I’m Kakeru, and I’m a Pokémon Trainer from Japan.)

I’m Kakeru, a Japanese writer who loves Pokémon cards. Recently, I decided to start sharing my passion with the world in English. Because I believe the fun and excitement of Pokémon cards shouldn’t be limited by language or borders.

Why I Share Pokémon Cards in English

Cultural Exchange Through Pokémon TCG

First, I want people all over the world to discover the joy of collecting, trading, and playing with Pokémon cards. It’s not just a game—it’s a lifestyle and a global community.

Second, through buying and selling (reselling) Pokémon cards, I’ve had the chance to meet new people. Resale activities help create cross-cultural connections. I’ve made friends with collectors and sellers from different countries, and it’s a lot of fun to learn about each other’s cultures through our shared love for Pokémon.

I want to be a bridge between Japanese fans and overseas fans. That’s why I’ve started writing in English.

Popular Pokémon in Japan vs Overseas

Eevee

There are some interesting differences between which Pokémon are popular in Japan and overseas.

In Japan, fan favorites include:

  • Eevee – so many people love its cute look and multiple evolutions!
  • Pikachu – the mascot of Pokémon, always popular with all generations.
  • Nanjamo (Iono) – a popular character from the Pokémon Scarlet & Violet series.

In overseas countries (like the U.S. and Europe), the top favorites include:

  • Charizard – the dragon-like final form of Charmander, a symbol of strength and nostalgia.
  • Gengar – spooky and powerful, very popular among collectors.
  • Umbreon – one of Eevee’s evolutions, especially loved for its dark and cool design.

These differences show how Pokémon is loved worldwide, but in different ways depending on local culture and trends.

Upcoming Boxes to Watch

Two big boxes are coming soon:

  • Black Bolt (left side)
  • White Flare (right side)

These new sets are expected to feature strong cards and beautiful artwork. Collectors and players are both excited.

In Japan, due to strict resale laws and high demand, these boxes are often only available by lottery. It’s hard to buy them directly from stores, even for serious fans!

To All Fellow Pokémon Card Fans

I want to make friends, trade cards, and connect with fans all over the world through our shared love for Pokémon cards—even by buying and selling across borders.

I wrote this blog post to bring together passionate collectors and curious newcomers who love Pokémon cards.
